For instance, you can order your cavalry to follow you immediately or your infantry to charge as soon as they can. To set up these orders, press Ctrl+E in the campaign map to enter the menu
If your army has no infantry then the next formation will be select (archers) and so on and so forth following the base formation order: Infantry (I), Archers (II), Cavalry (III), Horse Archers (IV), Skirmishers (V), Heavy Infantry (VI), Light Cavalry (VII) and Heavy Cavalry (VIII). The positions are set based on the position of the main formation (Infantry). You can then press F10/F11/F12 to apply the army position in one of the slots. During a field battle, position your troops within the map and press Ctrl+F10/F11/F12 to save the current army position and arrangements in slots 1, 2 or 3.
